What’s In Dr. Lauren’s Bag?

Being a new(ish) business owner, I spend a LOT of time away from home, running to meetings and events and back and forth from the office. I frequently can be seen carrying 47 bags in the morning or running out to my car throughout the day searching for something I discovered I needed. As someone who is very conscious about what I put in and on my body, I try to have the things I might need during the day with me to avoid having to make choices I don’t feel good about.

There are a few things that are always in my work bag for my everyday needs.

Passion planner

I rely heavily on my calendar for my day to day schedule and also on my to do list. I learned that to keep up with my schedule, to-do list, and goals that planning is everything. It’s amazing what planning can do for your life and for the people in your life. I tend to have a lot of ideas and things I am very excited about and without writing them down they remain ideas and not actions.

Supergoop CC cream

I have always embraced a less is more philosophy with my makeup and truly believe that this stuff makes my skin stay healthy and look great. I don’t ever wear any foundation or concealer on my skin, just this product! It’s a very clean product that is free of oxybenzone, sulfates, phthalates, and parabens. What you put on your skin is incredibly important for many reasons and if I am putting something on most days of the week (or any time ever)  I am very careful that it’s free of dangerous ingredients. Anyone I have recommended it to ends up loving it as much as I do.

Doterra Onguard Hand Sanitizing Spray

I make a point to only have products in the office that I myself would feel good about touching or using. Antibacterial soaps or hand sanitizers are something that I am not comfortable with and thankfully people are catching on that we don’t need so have so much of it. You can achieve the same clean results without the harmful side effects of the ingredients in many of those soaps and sanitizers.

I love the entire Onguard line from Doterra and have recently started using the hand sanitizer. I have some at the front desk at all times and in my own purse. It is shown to be effective at killing bacteria and germs on skin and it may smell like Christmas, but I haven’t gotten any complaints yet!

Lavanila Vanilla and Water Deodorant

In addition to loving to workout, I am close to people all day and also run around adjusting people so I like to be sure that I keep this in my office and my work bag. Lavanila came out with new formulas and scents in the last few months and I think this deodorant works better than ever. Check out my blog post on natural deodorants for more information.

Metagenics Wellness Essentials Pregnancy

Before I get a lot of questions, I am not pregnant or trying to conceive, but this is still a great vitamin for me. Thankfully I get my baby fix at the office everyday! Taking a high quality vitamin is an important part of your wellness routine, especially women of childbearing age. I love these vitamin packs from Metagenics because they include the prenatal vitamin and additional calcium/magnesium, choline, and EPA-DHA. The fact that they come in a pack makes it easy for me to take on the go and stay on track.

Orly Breathable Nail Polish

I love nail polish. I don’t love painting my own nails, however I know that avoiding toxic chemicals is easiest when you are in control of what is going on your own nails. This nail polish is the best clean nail product I have found and as much as I used to love shellac manicures, this is just as good AND it’s not harmful to your health. Orly Breathable doesn’t require a base or top coat and lasts about a week before I need to repaint them.

Doterra Replenishing Body Butter

I love using this product on my hands and elbows and any areas that need extra moisture. It works so well and has shea butter, cocoa butter, avocado oil, and jojoba seed oil in it. It also smells amazing and has wild orange, frankincense, and douglas fir essential oils in it. I go through this stuff quickly!

Infinite Warrior Bracelets

I can’t always wear bracelets when I am adjusting, but outside of work hours I can be seen wearing many different Infinite Warrior bracelets. All of these bracelets contain semi-precious gemstones that have their own unique energy property. They are beautiful to look at and addicting! They are made locally by Maria Panno, who happens to be one of my very closest friends.
